Overview

We are seeking a full-time Program Specialist to support the Office of Grants Management and Office of Head Start Services within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF).

Responsibilities

This role provides professional, administrative, and technical services to support grants management systems for federal clients.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Performing data management, document & records management, grant application reviews & analyses.
  • Providing guidance and technical assistance to Head Start and Early Head Start grant programs.
  • Provide support to grantee programs as needed.
  • Attend client meetings as assigned and organize documentation (as required).
  • Assist with preliminary grant application reviews.
  • Perform program support tasks as requested.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust suitability.
  • At least two (2) years of specialized experience providing guidance and technical assistance to state, local, or federally funded early childhood education, social or behavioral science programs.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of performing programmatic oversight of state, local, or federally funded early childhood education, social or behavioral science programs.
  • A minimum of a BA or BS Degree, with a preference for a Master’s degree, in a field related to behavioral or social science, early childhood education, or public administration from an accredited university or college.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the administration of discretionary grants is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, aggregate, and present data gathered from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly (oral and written), and produce high quality written products such as memoranda, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Federal operations and regulations.
