Release Manager

Job Locations US-DC-Washington


As a Release Manager, you will lead multiple tasks and retains overall responsibility for performance including cost, schedule, deliverables, and compliance. You will provide the interface to a federal customer and other project leaders. May work under a Program Manager for multiple projects. You will ensure quality and productivity standards are maintained while meeting project/client deadlines and budget constraints. You will perform a quality assurance role and ensure timely delivery of all specified deliverables. Identifies all task responsibilities and reports any changes or suggestions accordingly to a senior Project Manager or Program Manager. Supervises the training of new personnel under the project to assure compliance with government regulations, codes, and Company policy and procedures.


  • Oversee software releases of public facing websites and back-end systems.
  • Work closely with the software developers, analysts, and testers to ensure that releases stay within their planned scope, schedule, and cost, and will strive to for zero error-based “pull backs” on releases.


  • Public Trust eligibility.
  • Minimum/General Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years’ increasing responsibilities in information systems design and management is required, of which five (5) years must be specialized to release management.
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other equivalent project management certification.
  • Training/certification in Agile methods (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience working with Agile, and/or Continuous Delivery approaches and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in using an Agile development framework to lead teams gathering requirements, estimating tasks, distilling business requirements into incremental features, and demonstrating new functionality to product owners.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and open-source cloud solutions, application development, and enterprise strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to orchestrate and communicate the management of technology scope and risks.
