Agile Project Manager

Job Locations US-DC-Washington


As an Agile Project Manager, you will lead the project or multiple tasks and retains overall responsibility for performance including cost, schedule, deliverables and contractual compliance. You will support a federal customer and provide the interface to the customer and other project leaders. May work under a Program Manager for multiple projects. Identifies, acquires, and utilizes company resources to achieve project technical objectives. Establishes priorities, task assignment, and completion. Ensures quality and productivity standards are maintained while meeting project/client deadlines and budget constraints. Serves as the client liaison on all project matters. Performs a quality assurance role and ensures timely delivery of all specified deliverables. Identifies all task responsibilities and reports any changes or suggestions accordingly to a senior Project Manager or Program Manager. Supervises the training of new personnel under the project to assure compliance with government regulations, codes, and Company policy and procedures. Participates in contract negotiations.


  • Responsible for managing and directing the Agile teams. The Agile Project Manager will solicit business requirements from the product owner and transfer them to the product backlog for further decomposition by the team.
  • Work with customer agency to resolve issues, convey information, determine the problem levels as they arise, and agree upon methods of correction and escalation of issues.
  • Discuss issues and progress weekly based on the project plan. These reviews will briefly address the financial status of the project and any outstanding problems and issues and the nature and status of their resolutions.
  • Responsibilities include all activities associated with hardware support, operating systems and application patch management.


  • Public Trust eligibility.
  • BS/BA in Information Technology related field.
  • 10 years of increasing responsibilities in information systems design and management, which seven (7) years must be specialized, to include:
    • Engineering project development from inception to deployment
    • Management and control of funds and resources
    • Demonstrated capability in managing multi-task contracts
  • Training/certification in Agile methods (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience working with Agile, and/or Continuous Delivery approaches and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in using an Agile development framework to lead teams gathering requirements, estimating tasks, distilling business requirements into incremental features, and demonstrating new functionality to product owners.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and open-source cloud solutions, application development, and enterprise strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to orchestrate and communicate the management of technology scope and risks.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing an Agile project management tool such as Jira or Rally to plan, execute, and measure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring that the technical expectations of deliverable are met through Agile processes; additionally, support the continuous improvement of those processes.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering Agile software solutions using best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Adaptable Software Design.
