Overview

Highlight is seeking highly qualified individuals for a Loan Specialist position to support the Small Business Administration's 504 program. If you are interested in being part of a team supporting government financial programs that help U.S. small businesses thrive, please apply!

 

This position is remote / telework. 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the applicant’s credit and assess the financial condition and management depth of the business and the principal(s). 
  • Analyze loan applications and related financial documents, considering such factors as assets, liabilities, capital, business projections, income flow, prospective earnings, repayment ability, collateral values, and lien positions to determine the merit of the loan request 
  • Determine the eligibility of the applicant and eligibility of the 504 project and project costs. 
  • Establish the terms and conditions of the loan based on an assessment of the applicant’s business model, financial condition, and other prudent credit factors. 
  • Provide guidance and advice to Certified Development Companies (CDC’s) throughout the nation. 

Qualifications

  • Able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. 
  • Associates degree preferred. 
  • Practical knowledge of loan administration and basic accounting principles. 
  • 5+ years of experience in the credit underwriting field is preferred. 
  • Experience with the 504 program, loan origination, banking or credit union and credit analysis is required; and mortgage experience is a plus.   
  • High level of practical computer knowledge to include MS Office, MS Teams, SharePoint and Adobe.  
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently following designated procedures while maintaining productivity is required.
