Overview

Highlight Technologies is seeking a full-time IT Support Specialist at our Fairfax office. You will be responsible for maintaining smooth, secure operation of corporate IT systems, providing on-site and remote technical support for our users, maintaining documentation, and solving IT and process-related problems. This position demands attention to detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, patience, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth operation and availability of Highlight’s IT systems.
  • Support Highlight’s staff either on-site or remotely.
  • Respond to support requests via ticketing systems, phone, and/or chat.
  • Resolve software and hardware issues, primarily with Windows 10 machines.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the network, phone system, and A/V equipment.
  • Provide exceptional, friendly support to users. Occasional after-hours support.
  • Maintain an acceptable balance of system security and usability.
  • Administer Office365 accounts and services such as Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive.
  • Train users on software and equipment usage. Advise on best practices.
  • Maintain MDM software catalogs; test and distribute software updates.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies and tools.
  • Create new user accounts and perform onboarding/offboarding activities.
  • Administer security awareness training; maintain just-in-time training campaigns.
  • Assist in maintaining department compliance with various certifications and standards.
  • Maintain IT SOPs and other internal documentation.
  • Maintain golden images, provision laptops, manage hardware and software inventory.
  • Work with vendors and service providers to schedule repairs & solve problems.
  • Maintain and test backup/recovery procedures for various systems.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Positive, customer-experience focused attitude.
  • Ability to learn quickly, be self-sufficient, and work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience with Office365 administration required.
  • Deep understanding of Windows 10 required; Mac OS familiarity preferred.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of IT and significant experience with desktop support required – Win10, MS Office Suite, Adobe, etc.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security + preferred.
